LASIK, EPI-LASIK & PRK to Correct Vision

LASIK, EPI-LASIK and PRK are elective procedures that may reduce dependency on glasses and contacts for those people who are candidates. They are safe and effective surgeries for most people. At ZIEKEREYE, we use state-of-the-art laser technology to perform the LASIK, EPI-LASIK and PRK procedures.

LASIK, EPI-LASIK and PRK are viable options for laser eye surgery, but there are pros and cons to each. It is important to discuss these options with Dr. Zieker to determine which is best for you and will achieve the greatest improvement in your vision and eye health.

How EPI-LASIK differs from LASIK

EPI-LASIK is a hybrid technique blending PRK and LASIK components. Recovery time is approximately one week longer, but the risk is lower and the cornea retains its original strength.

Keep in mind that LASIK is an outpatient procedure with no pain reported by most patients. Dr. Zieker is certified in LASIK by VISX. Following a LASIK procedure, you can expect to be back at work in about two to three days. Eyedrops are required frequently throughout the day for about four weeks.
